How to Unify a Kitchen's Appearance with Coordinating Kitchen Decor

One of the most important aspects of kitchen decorating is to make sure that the space does not look like a "hodge-podge" of color, shape, and theme. It is very tempting, when decorating the kitchen area, to buy many different small decoration pieces that are each "unique" - such pieces are often very tastefully chosen, and add an indisputably flavorful addition to the decor; however, one must remember that each of these "flavors" goes a long way, and they must not be overdone. If you find that your kitchen's decor is afflicted by this problem, one remedy consists in removing some of these pieces. If you cannot bear to part with any of the items, however, there is another solution: to replace some of the less treasured items with a matching and unified set of pieces. Often, such sets consist of a clock, a cutting board, a lazy-susan, and a coaster set, or some such combination. This is a relatively easy solution. With any decor, however, the rule remains - the space must be unified through some aspect, whether of a common color pallete, or a specific theme, or a continuously sustained mood.
